THE MOHALLA
The episode starts with Tarachand and Veena eagerly waiting for the arrival of their daughter – the daughter they were now immensely proud of. No sooner than Indu’s jeep stations itself in front of the mansion, there are warm hugs and wishes all around. More-than-happy to welcome their tearful daughter who apologizes to them for the recent past, the Mathurs embrace her whole-heartedly.
It goes without saying that Sobha is also elated to receive her son and sing his prasies for everyone to hear!

However, a short distance away from the happy reunion, Indu stands alone. Leaning against the jeep all by himself, he watches the unfolding family scenes with a grim expression on his face.

It’s only when Sanchi reminds her father about a fact that Indu looks up to watch them ‘Papa…didn’t I tell you…I wasn’t wrong to have lied this time – I did it only to prove my innocence’
Nodding his head, Tarachand agrees earnestly.

Following her statement, Sanchi then turns around to observe Indu as she admits happily ‘I didn’t do any of this alone… if Indu Singh was not by my side.. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve anything…’

While the bystanders intently watch the young man for his reactions, he walks over to his vehicle to fetch the property file and hands it over to his father-in-law. The startled old man doesn’t know how to react.
‘I haven’t done anything great…’ a sombre Indu speaks up to break the awkward silence ‘It was my duty and I’ve fulfilled it…that’s all’
While Veena is positively delighted by her son-in-law’s actions, Tarachand accepts the folder silently – not having much to reply to or refute Indu’s claims.

A short while later, the Mathurs’ return indoors – but not before having a brief altercation with Sobha.

MATHUR’S
Once inside his room, Indu is sifting through the clothes in his cupboard – recalling his word to Sanchi ‘I promise you that I’d prove you innocent no matter what Sanchi ji’
‘I give you my word that once this problem is solved, I wouldn’t even show you my face..you your way…and me my way’
Just as he snaps out of his thoughts, he realizes that Sanchi was watching him.

She notices the serious expressions on his face and hesitantly starts a conversation ‘You look quite exhausted…shall I get you some tea?’
Picking his clothes from the cupboard and the bed, he turns away ‘No it’s all right…I’m fine now…’
‘Thanks…’ she pursues gratefully ‘For everything that you’ve done for me for my well-being..for my dreams…and for my happiness…’
Not looking at her directly, he replies – the pain in his voice evident ‘I don’t think I have achieved anything so great that you need to thank me with such heartfelt words…what I’ve done, I’ve done for the sake of…’
While he pauses for a second, she waits with bated breath for him to finish his sentence ‘I’ve done it for the sake of humanity and friendship… you don’t owe me anything for it!’
While Sanchi is quite taken aback by his response, Indu walks out of the room matter-of-factly.

TIWARI’S ROOM
Radha and Sadanand spew hateful words about their brother-in-law who’d cheated them

SANCHI’S ROOM
Come night time and Indu returns to the bedroom. Walking up to Sanchi who was engrossed in tidying her bed, he starts speaking up slowly ‘Sanchi ji…for many days I’ve had something on my mind…something I been wanting to tell you’
‘Tell me about it…’ she replies chirpily, continuing with her work ‘I too have something I’ve been meaning to tell you’
A slight blush escapes his lips as Indu continues ‘Well..how do I say it…’
Just then he watches her place the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ pillows between their spaces
This upsets the young man and he becomes thoughtful ‘This wall that you have built between both of us…this shall never come down…I’m such a fool to have thought otherwise…I now understand that you’d NEVER accept or love me’

‘What happened? Why are you so lost?’ she interrupts his thoughts
‘Nothing Sanchi ji…I’m tired…you’re tired…so let’s go to sleep’
Sanchi instantly realizes he was was covering up something, but doesn’t prod him any further.
‘You wanted to tellme something right?’ he asks her in return
‘No nothing…you’re tired right, so you go to sleep now’ she concludes

When they hit their bed, Sanchi suddenly wonders if her symbolic ‘placing of the pillows’ was what was hurting him and marring their friendship. The awkward couple finally switch off their lights and lay down facing opposite directions – but are immersed in their own thoughts as they do so!

UNIVERSITY
Sanchi is being felicitated at University by Professor Janardhan. Indu, Manwa & Mehek are happy spectators to the praise that she was receiving from the professor. While Janardhan returns the presidency to Sanchi, the student audience break out into cries of praise for her.

While Sanchi revels in the adulation, Indu observes her silently – a placid smile on his lips. He then leaves the podium without a fuss. However, unlike previous instances, this time Sanchi notices his departure and stops him immediately. Running up to him, she questions him as to where he was leaving.
‘Its time for me to fulfil my promise to you’ he replies
‘What promise?’
‘You forgot? Well you forget too soon…’ he mocks her ‘Remember, I’d promised you that once I returned you your presidency, I’d leave you in peace forever…I’ve kept up the first part of my word…now its time for me to keep up the second part too’
‘How can you leave like this?’ the startled girl asks ‘We’re not divorced yet..and the court’s ordered us to stay together till our divorce proceedings ends…’
‘Well..that’s a ‘court’…not my ‘fate’…’ he quips ‘when fate doesn’t will us to stay together then for how long would a court be able to keep us together…I’d promised you that once I fulfilled my friendship, I’d walk away from you permanently…’ his voice starts breaking ‘So of as today, our relationship’s come to an end’
He puts on his cooling glasses – possibly to hide the pain in his eyes – and then walks off!

Sanchi is nothing less than shocked – she hadn’t expected this response from Indu Singh. EVER!

MATHURS’
A not-too-happy Sanchi returns home and places her bag on the sofa. When Veena notices her sullen face, she questions her if anything went wrong at university. Sanchi updates her about how she’d been returned the presidency and this makes the mother very happy.
‘This is a good news Sanchi…then why are you so sad now?’
‘I don’t know why…’ Sanchi confesses – somewhat lost ‘But for the first time in my life..I’m not really in joy even after receiving such a happy news’
Just then, Tarachand storms into the living room – very pleased with himself ‘I have something that’ll make you really really happy now Sanchi’ he says, as he shows her a letter. It was a court notice for the final divorce proceedings.
The letter rattles an already-confounded Sanchi, while her father makes no effort to hide his happiness ‘Now you’ll no longer have anything else come in your way…neither Indu Singh…nor his family…you can start life afresh’
Unbeknown to the family, Sadanand arrives at this point and overhears their conversation. However, unaware of his arrival or of Sanchi’s emotional turmoil, Tarachand pursues with his victorious monologue ‘After the court orders, Indu Singh and his family will have to vacate this house…so all’s well that ends well!’

Profoundly hurt by the reality, Veena walks away in a huff. However, Tarachand only brushes off the emotional lady for becoming so emotional about the departure of her supposed ‘son-in-law’
‘Indu Singh is no good for you – be it yesterday or today…’ Tarachand reminds Sanchi ‘Now only think of your new life!’

Once her father leaves, Sanchi follows her mother into her room. Veena is hysterical about the actions of Sanchi and Tarachand.
‘I might be old fashioned, but I know that the relationship a husband and wife share is the most precious one in this world…What hasn’t Indu done for us…he played with his life and returned the property papers to us…he’s been helping you out for so long.. if you have even the slightest regard for his deeds, please stop this marriage from breaking up…’

Watching Sanchi’s bleak visage and her lack-of-reaction, Veena becomes enraged ‘Whatever! Just remember what I say – you’ll never find a husband who’d love you more than Indu Singh – someone who’s so innocent and good at heart… not in this life…not in seven lifetimes to come’

TIWARI’S ROOM
Sadanand informs Radha about the 3-day deadline they had before they’d be forced to leave the house. He says he had to stop the pair from getting a divorce now. Well, Radha is not perturbed in the least!

KITCHEN
A disturbed Sanchi falters into the kitchen talking to herself ‘Papa is right…after 3 days, I’ll get everything back…my house…my family…’
As she lights the fire for her stove, she remembers Veena’s words ‘You’ll never find a husband who’d love you more than Indu Singh – someone who’s so innocent and good at heart… not in this life…not in seven lifetimes to come’
Irked by her puzzled state of mind, She forces herself to amend her thoughts ‘What’s friendship got to do with divorce…we can be good friends after the divorce too’

INDU’S DEN
‘Forget about friendship.. I have no relationship left with her…’ Indu confesses to his friends – his eyes bedewed with tears ‘I know this for now that Sanchi ji is never going to accept me in this life time!’
His shocked friends are moved by the man’s state ‘But you’ve done so much for her bhaiyyaji’
‘What have I done?’ he yells back ‘I’ve tormented her, tortured her…forced her to wed me…I’ve caused her to hate me…so, I’ve made a decision to leave her forever… I’ve only made her life a living hell…’
Emotionally torn, Indu pauses for a second ‘I don’t want to destroy anyone’s life…she is a studious girl who wants to make a career…let her achieve what she wants to’
While the distressed young man starts weeping, Guddu enquires sympathetically ‘But, what about your dreams bhaiyyaji?’
‘What dreams? You guys are here for me…’ he tries to somehow force himself to smile ‘And I’ll live life king size! ‘I’ll move far away from her’

At this point, Manwa comes to the den. Though the remaining members remain unaware, he witnesses the entire drama and plunges into a myriad of thoughts.
‘Love? Indu replies as his boys prod him on ‘What about love…I’ve never loved her truly…everything was only an act!’
Wiping his tears, he compels himself to let go of the issue for then.

MATHURS’ – LIVING ROOM
Strutting into the living room, Indu comes face-to-face with his uncle, who thereafter asks him what he planned to do in the future.
‘I’ll do what needs to be done…’ the young man retorts ‘Why do you have to be worried for me…’
Saying so, he walks away – leaving behind a bewildered Sadanand

SANCHI’S ROOM
Sanchi is deeply apprehensive about how she’d hand over Indu the court notice. Soon after, the fiery young man enters the room and notes her arranging his clothes in the cupboard.
‘Why are you touching my clothes?’ he asks her curtly
‘Your clothes were lying outside, so I thought I’ll organize them for you’ the girl replies modestly
‘No need for any of it…don’t touch my clothes or any other belongings of mine hereafter’ he warns her in rude manner
Though troubled by his stern stance, she doesn’t delve into the issue further. The pensive girl then walks over to her sideboard to fetch the court notice. Hesitant to give it to him, she holds it for a few seconds. Noticing the paper in her hand and Sanchi’s insecurity, he realizes it was something she meant to show him. He orders her to hand over whatever was in her hand. When he gets hold of the paper eventually, the reality hits him hard. Finding himself more pained than he ever thought he’d be, Indu uses the paper to shield his real emotions from her. Closing his eyes in agony, he lets the sordid facts sink in before looking up to study her expressions. She looks away in guilt.

Swiftly changing his demeanour, he smiles widely ‘A good news finally…lets treat everyone with sweets… after 3 days we’ll be free of each other…as it is, we don’t have any love for one another…so, after the divorce we’ll be like free birds…not bothered about each other or the world around us…’
Kissing the paper, he acts as jubilant as he could!

Her voice shivering, Sanchi rushes out of the room to get a hold of herself ‘I’ll be back’

As soon as she leaves, his eyes start whelming with tears as he tries to truly come to terms with his loss.

TERRACE
Pacing on the terrace, Sanchi fumes to herself ‘Sometimes I feel like he has no brains…I consider him my friend and he wants to leave me…idiot…can’t he talk directly to me…’ she uses futile explanations to calm her tensed heart ‘Well…friends come and go…if he decides to leave…if he has no concern for me…THEN why should I worry about him!’

At night…
Sanchi is about to lie down on her bed and for some reason decides against placing the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ pillows in between. Just then, Indu enters the room. Casually picking up his pillows and blanket, he is about to leave the room when Sanchi questions his actions. He lets her know he was going to sleep outside in the verrandah.
Sanchi is surprised ‘Why outside?’
Trying to behave as nonchalant as possible, Indu advices her ‘When I have to get used to all this 3 days from now…why not start all this now? Thought I’ll return this room and and this bed to you…that’s right isn’t it?’
Sanchi remains troubled by his explanation

In the middle of the night…
Sanchi suffers from nightmares and wakes up in the middle of the night, only to realize Indu was not lying next to him.
This disturbance sends her into deep thoughts. She recollects her first meeting with Indu Singh – all of their initial amiable exchanges – how he’d proposed – how he’d caressed her to sleep – how he’d comforted her when she’d broken down – and then how she’d been increasingly worried for him off late.
she walks out and observes him sleeping on the divan in the corridor.

Unable to understand why she felt so bad, she wonders why the thought of him leaving tormented her!
‘I feel like I don’t understand myself’ she mulls sadly ‘When I can’t stop thinking about him…then is this only friendship or something else’

MATHURS’ – DINING HALL
Sitting at the table, the girl finds herself very restless. Waiting for Indu to arrive, she can’t seem to eat even a morsel of food. Veena doesn’t fail to notices Sanchi’s agitation. A few seconds later, Indu Singh arrives downstairs with a suitcase in his hand. Running forth to him, she stops him.
‘I’m leaving…3 days later we’d be divorced…our relationship will come to an end… then what’s the point of staying together now?’ he explains himself
‘Well all that’s only after 3 days right.. no one’s shooing you from here now’ she argues
Tarachand instructs Sanchi to let him go, but Sanchi doesn’t seem convinced

However, Indu remains adamant about his choice and reiterates his decision to leave then and there!
When Sadanand gets up to ask him where he’d go, Indu mischievously replies that he’d return to his friends, his den and his previous lifestyle.
Before leaving, he doesn’t forget to remind Sadanand that their relationship with the Mathur family had also come to its end and that he better prepare to leave the mansion soon.
Indu’s unexpected exit from the Mathur mansion leaves Tarachand relieved, Veena saddened and Sanchi anguished.

SANCHI’S ROOM
Sanchi enters her room and notices her clothes on her bed and the sofa. Indu’s side of the cupboard was now empty.
She remembers a memory from their recent past – how they’d argued about him strewing his clothes on the sofa.

Veena comes there and realizes that Sanchi was in an emotional state of turmoil. she goes about clearing the room while scolding Indu for his stubborn departure. The mother then takes Sanchi and Tarachand to task for not altering their attitude.
While carrying on with her tasks, the mother observes her daughter’s ongoing silence. In an attempt to shake her out of it, Veena decides to put up an act – feigning like as though she’d also accepted the divorce.
While re-arranging Sanchi’s clothes in her cupboard she comes across the bridal wear and all its religious articles – namely the ‘mangalsutra’
She proposes that there was no need for Sanchi to hold on to such things that’d remind her of the past ‘I’ll take everything away and arrange to have it disposed’ she informs, as she dumps the bridal lehenga, bangles and mangalsutra in a bag.

Watching her mother, Sanchi enters a state of profound shock – unable to move – unable to react – unable to understand what was happening to her!

KITCHEN
Veena runs to the kitchen – secretly hoping her daughter would react soon enough. She prays that her plan should work, before she keeps the bag near the dustbin and leaves the vicinity.

A short while later, Sanchi enters the kitchen and picks up the bag. Removing the mangalsutra from it, she studies it within her hands. She recalls their sad wedding ‘what I used to feel for Indu Singh previously and what I feel for him now…its all changed’

Her mother peeps in to survey her daughter’s actions. Noting that Sanchi was holding on to the mangalsutra, Veena tells herself ‘Even if you haven’t said anything yet… your mother has learnt the truth…now you need to understand this fact too…before its too late’

Precap –
Mehek provokes Sanchi to play a love-hate chit game with her. When the ‘love’ chit comes up, Mehek asks her to finally accept that she truly loved Indu.
Tearfully, Sanchi ultimately accepts ‘Yes I loved Indu Singh’
