Ruk Jana Nahin 8th October 2012 Written Update

UNIVERSITY
While Mehek is strolling through the campus, Manwa notices her and walks up to the girl. Quite irritated that she hadn’t picked up her phone since that morning, he nearly yells ‘Where ARE YOU?’
Letting out a gentle smile, she tells him that her phone wasn’t working and had just had it repaired. A second later, she enquires coyly if he had something ‘special’ to talk about!

He becomes slightly fidgety ‘Yes…I have something important to tell you, but not now…we have a big problem on our hands!’
When a worried Mehek enquires thereafter, Manwa takes her to a side and informs her about the court order that would leave Indu and Sanchi divorced within 3 days ‘Bhaiyyaji loves Sanchi a lot, but is sacrificing his dreams, so she remains happy…he’s trying to act like all this doesn’t make a difference to him…but, why does he have to ruin his life to please Sanchi?’
Mehek agrees with Manwa that the divorce would only have disastrous consequences and that it had to be stopped at any cost!

Unbeknown to the two, Sanchi was standing on the other side of the pillar – overhearing their conversation. The already confounded girl is pushed into an even greater turmoil. She doesn’t know who or what to believe ‘Ever since the court notice has arrived, Indu is behaving like he can’t even stand the sight of me!’ she ponders sadly
Her thoughts are interrupted when she hears her friend’s opinion on the matter ‘I can’t believe that Indu’s and Sanchi’s love story would have such a sad ending!’
Mehek and Manwa then make a pact to help the two lovers overcome this hurdle and give their story a favourable outcome.

Realizing Mehek & Manwa’s conversation had come to an end, Sanchi walks away from the spot. A few seconds later, Mehek calls out to her and greets her with a wide smile. However, the sadness on Sanchi’s face was apparent. On being asked about the cause of her gloom, Sanchi informs Mehek about the impending divorce proceedings.
‘But this is good, right?’ Mehek asks with a mischievous smile ‘You wanted this…you were the one who filed for it in the first place’ she pauses ‘Why, have you changed your mind now?’
A perplexed Sanchi doesn’t know what to say to explain herself ‘I feel strange when I think that its time for Indu to leave…like as though I’m losing out on something…why do I feel like something is not right with Indu Singh leaving me?’
‘Its simple…’ Mehek answers confidently ‘Because, you love Indu Singh…now, I know you wouldn’t accept it!’
Agitated by the response, Sanchi tries brushing off the claims ‘No way…what are you talking about…you know that I don’t love Indu Singh!’

Mehek then challenges Sanchi to play a game that’d help her SEE the truth! However,
Sanchi gets irked that her friend was coming up with such silly notions to guide her with such important life-long decisions! Putting down the reason for Sanchi’s escalating irritation as fear, the composed Mehek goads her to come along.

CAMPUS GROUNDS
Sanchi was supposed to write down a few chits and fill them with the following options -‘LOVE’ ‘DON’T LOVE’ ‘NO EMOTIONS’
and then pick one out of them. Though mildly annoyed, Sanchi plays along.

Once having written down and folded the chits, Sanchi picks one out as instructed. Mehek takes it and reads it out – The answer comes up as ‘Love’. Sanchi is not convinced and Mehek asks her to pick another one out. Second time too, the chit reads ‘Love’. Surprisingly enough, the third round of chit-picking also displays a similar answer!
‘Come on Sanchi stop procrastinating… tell me…you love him, don’t you?’
‘FINE…YES…I LOVE HIM’ She admits tearfully ‘But he doesn’t want to live with me’
‘He’s lying…’ Mehek corrects the distraught girl ‘He loves you a lot’
‘YOU think so…but, he’s personally told me he doesn’t want to live with me…’ Sanchi argues ‘When he doesn’t want this relationship, I don’t need it too..I’m not going to beg him to love me…if Indu can be happy without me, then I’ll show him I can be happy without him too…’
Saying so, she picks her jhola and storms off – not heeding Mehek’s friendly pleas to stay back.

Once Sanchi leaves, Mehek casually picks up another folded chit…and then another…and then another…Sanchi’d only penned the word ‘Love’ in all of them! Pleasantly surprised, Mehek chides Sanchi for being such an idiot at expressing what was in her heart ‘She possibly fears being heartbroken, if her proposal was rejected by Indu’ Mehek concludes ‘Looks like I’ll have to think up something myself’

UNIVERSITY CANTEEN
Mehek updates Manwa about the latest developments – that Sanchi loved Indu but would never admit to it in front of him.
‘Even if she did confess, he’d never trust her’ Manwa adds
They wonder what to do, but decide to come up with some or the other plan that’d keep the two together.

INDU’S DEN
Indu and his group are hanging out in the den, but their faces are quite morose. Walking up to the silent Indu, Manwa tells him that the dejection on his face was quite evident. Even if he did go up to Sanchi and told her that he wanted a divorce, she’d never believe him!
‘We need to come up with a drama…’ Manwa continues ‘We should make it appear as though Indu is now interested in another girl…only then will Sanchi realize that you’re ready for a divorce!’

UNIVERSITY
Sitting by herself, Sanchi recalls the game she’d just played with Mehek. The entire scenario seemed to disturb her to no end. She recollects Manwa’s words that Indu’s indifference to her was only an ‘act’. She finally decides that she’d put an end to her misery by directly questioning Indu about all of it.

INDU’S DEN
Not convinced by Manwa’s suggestions, Indu puts his hand on his friend’s shoulder as he speaks – his tone pretty sceptical ‘This idea for a drama sounds nice, but is not practical…I’ve never done something like this before and no girl would be ready to do something like this either…’
Manwa replies that Indu only needed to give him the nod and that he’d have everything arranged in no time.

Finding himself increasingly uncertain about the proposed arrangements, Indu shifts uncomfortably in his spot. Inadvertently, he recalls a few moments from his unhappy past with Sanchi – how he’d dragged her to the mandap, how he’d forced her to wed him and how Sanchi had spewed words of agony against his deeds time and again.
‘Fine I’ll do it’ he ultimately caves in

UNIVERSITY
Traipsing down the stairs in her quest to meet Indu, she comes across a student who was looking to seek her help with regards to a scholarship issue. His question brings a smile to her lips – and for the first time, she puts her personal preferences before duty. She requests the student that she’ll attend to him later, as she had an important issue to sort out for the moment (This scene was quite monumental in its significance!)
Saying so, she rushes downstairs. However, just as she’s about to exit the corridors, Mehek spots her and approaches her. Sanchi is forced to lie to her friend that she was about to attend class.
Soon after, Mehek then diverts the conversation to the topic that was a part of her’s and Manwa’s plan ‘By the way, you were right Sanchi…Indu doesn’t love you anymore …apparently, he’s found another girl he wants to settle down with…’
This piece of information leaves Sanchi profoundly shocked!
‘Once your divorce is finalized…he plans to wed her…in fact, he’s with her right now’
‘No way…this can’t be true!’
‘It is!’
‘Take me to him right now’

MATHURS’
Tarachand and Sadanand have a face-off about the latter clearing off his belongings from the Mathur mansion.
Once Tarachand leaves, Sadanand gets a call from one of Radha’s so-called powerful brothers. Radha’s brother threatens the lawyer to win his wife back if he didn’t want to face dire consequences in future!

INDU’S DEN
Just as she approaches Indu’s den, Sanchi suddenly stops by the door – startled by the scenes that were unfolding inside.

Sitting beside a girl with her hand wrapped in his, Indu seemed engrossed in conversation with the ‘stranger’. Though we don’t get to see the girl’s face initially, Indu does make an effort to appear amiable with her
‘What do I say…I was an idiot…leaving behind a girl who loved me like you did…I was busy running behind Sanchi…’ he toys with the girl’s bangles ‘I should be fortunate to have someone like you in my life…once I’m divorced, I’ll marry you happily’

Shaken by what she was witnessing, Sanchi doesn’t know what to make of the situation ‘What are you talking about Indu Singh? What is all this…who’s this?’

Just then, the girl turns around – and we get to see that it was none other than Roop!
The reality was that Manwa had tricked Roop into accepting this offer to act – tempting his sister by reminding her that Indu and Sanchi were soon to divorce and that Indu would be all hers.

‘Why, I can die for you…’ Roop gushes, as she unabashedly divulges her feelings for Indu ‘I’ve changed so much for you.. once you’re divorced, you’ll be mine forever…’
While Sanchi glares at the two of them, Indu continues feigning affection with her – caressing her fingers, putting his arm around her shoulders and the sort. Possibly finding herself in a brief state of bliss, the poor girl reacts by blushing from head to toe – unaware that it was all only a charade!

Watching the entire spectacle, Sanchi is nothing short of disgusted. Repulsed by Indu’s actions, she mentally rebukes him – how could he forget her so easily and let go of her memories in a jiffy. How could he manage to find another girl to fill his void so easily!
‘Thank God I learnt about your real self…if not, it would have been too late for me’ she tells herself, before scampering away in a fit.

Mehek and Manwa earnestly wait for Sanchi to burst forth into the room – hoping that she’d interrupt the Roop-Indu scene and confess her love. However,contrary to their plot, Sanchi’d stormed off in vexation! Her sudden departure now leaves the two friends in a real quandary.
Nevertheless, watching Sanchi walk away in a huff, Indu shirks himself away from Roop’s throes and strolls towards his door. The agonized young man is relieved that Manwa’s plan was so successful – and that Sanchi’d leave him with no sadness in her mind about doing so! Needless to say, Indu becomes emotional when he thinks about it.

PRECAP
OMGGG Sanchi is taking Indu to task and proposes to him while doing so –
‘Till today you were desperately following me… and now suddenly you’ve decided to accept defeat…I wouldn’t let go of you so easily…you HAVE to agree to my wishes…I LOVE YOU INDU SINGH’
