THE START OF THE RELIGIOUS WARFARE:

Raavan says that he needs victory at any cost, for the sake of his ego, whatever be the price, as he has already lost enough. He urges meghnad to use the brahmastra. sensing his hesitation, he asks if he is scared. meghnad denies and says that he shall do what vraavan wants. Raavan says that if till the first quarter of the day, he isnt able to defeat or kill rama or any of the leaders, then he shall use the brahmastra. raavan asks him to promsie, and he tensedly complies. raavan says that Vidyutjihva shall accompany him, for his aid. meghnad complies, and then leaves to pray for mata nikumbhala, and then start his attack. he starts praying, while raavan smirks. the resonating voice reaches rama and his
army too who hear intently. hanuman is boggled at this late prayers. Rama tells them what he is upto. hanuman understands that raavan is sending meghnad, and by this time of the hour, it seems he shall attack when he finishes the puja. they understand and prepare themselves for a late night attack, and be alert, as he wont warn and straightaway attack. Later in the night, clouds engulf the land into thich darkness. vidyutjihva comes out and in the blinding darkness, he starts attacking the monkeys. hanuman and other leaders are distraught as they hear monkeys screaming, but stand helplessly, as they cant see anything. In the battlefield, MEghnad says that his magical weapon has blinded the entire monkey army, and now the demons can attack. they comply and do so. all are tensed, being totally blind. Hanuman wonders how to attack, blinded totally. hanuman gets enraged and is about to attack, but rama stops him. rama says that if he hits without seeing, he can get his own men wounded too. hanuman asks what should they do then, and how to attack. Meghnad says that noone shall be spared, and he guffaws along with Vidyutjihva. the monkeys are alarmed and beg rama to save them. surgiva says that the only way out, is to ask the sun lord to rise early, to create light. hanuman says that its unethical. rama complies, and says that this cant be. vibhishan says that they have to hurry up and erase this blinding darkness though. rama then straightens up his bow and arrow, and fires off an arrow, saying that this magical weapon by vishwamitra shall render them light in this darkness. he fires it away, while all watch.
