This Women’s Day lead actresses of Zee TV wish strength, independence and empowerment for every woman.

As the Women’s day is round the corner, we salute spirit of the women who are progressing and are excelling very efficiently in their respective fields.

Here are few TV stars talking about the empowerment of Women and encourage them to do good work!

Roopal Tyagi as Gunjan of Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke

“I strongly believe that a woman is the backbone of any society. On Women’s Day, I want to convey that we all have the courage and power to ensure solutions to all the issues we face in our daily lives. I am privileged to play a track of a string character like Gunjan who takes the vital step to bust the blackmailer’s racket. I have always stood for women’s rights and various other important issues. On this day, I encourage every woman to stand up against any injustice to them and make their presence felt in society! Let’s live this life as a woman to the fullest and Happy Women’s Day!”

Neha Marda as Urmi of Doli Armaanon Ki

“I think that to be a woman is a privilege. This Women’s Day, I would like to say that we have to stand up against the negative elements of society. Currently, in my show we have been tackling the issue of eve-teasing and Power of 49′ to highlight the fact that we need to change the mindset of society and educate and empower women to exercise their right to vote and have a responsible government at the helm. While playing the character of Urmi, I realized the atrocities that you can be subjected to if your husband is not supportive. It is such a misfortune. Urmi is seen retaliating to get her rights as a wife and I would like to really motivate every woman who is facing domestic issues to sensibly handle the issue. Let’s pledge to stand up for your right! Happy Women’s Day!”

Surbhi Jyoti as Zoya in Qubool Hai

“Personally, I am a feminist. Let me take this opportunity to ask every woman to come out of their shell and fight for anything that is unjust. This year, I would like to reach out to that special sect of women who are away from their families. In my early days, I stayed away from my family and I know how exactly it feels to stay away from your family as a woman. But, on the other hand, I discovered my strength, my ability to fight for what I want in life. Let me tell you that we can overcome sorrows and life has many bright things to offer us. Also, as Zoya has been persistent in fighting for herself and staying by the side of truth, her character has inspired me to be like her. This Women’s Day let’s resolve to reach our dreams, be independent and live life to the fullest! Happy Women’s Day!”

Shilpa Shirodkar as Kamla Bai, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan

“I want to take this special occasion to wish all the maids who work for us and all the helping hands of every household and working woman. On the personal front, I have come back to acting after a hiatus and trust me; it is an effort to balance the two worlds. I bow down to the working women who are persistent to establish their individual identity and at the same time play the role of a homemaker. I want to extend my heartiest wishes to all the women who work as household helps. It is unfortunate that due recognition does not come for this section of society. I take this day to tell all women who work as maids that it’s a big service you render to make others’ homes. May you all get more strength, power, peace and progress in your lives. I am pleased to play a Kamla bai in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, it reveals a lot about the hectic schedules, work pressures and atrocities of some malkins’. But let me assure you that we are cherished, valued and respected in our small little world that we strive to keep together! Happy Women’s Day! Thank you!”

Paridhi Sharma as Jodha, Jodha Akbar

“Women have been the essence of society from time immemorial. As Jodha, my character struggled to take care of the harem for the safety of women. This was the time I realize that innate virtues like care, compassion and love are the real identity of a woman. In real life too, I notice these qualities in abundance- be it my mother, women of my family or on the sets. Women’s Day is the day to think about ourselves. Women in the family are always busy taking care of the family members and such amount of love is not to be found anywhere. I wish everyone a very Happy Women’s Day!

Reena Kapoor as Bhavna, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya

“I suggest that every year on this day we should add one quality that we would like to blossom in ourselves. My reel life role of Bhavna is of a woman who binds her family together. I related to my character completely as I am a person for whom family comes foremost. I feel that this day is for society to shower their love back on us and we should simply rejoice in receiving it from every corner of the world. Also, let’s resolve to stand up against the wrong doings in society and do our bit to make this world a better place to live for women! Happy Women’s Day to all the beautiful ladies out there!”

We wish you all a very Happy Women’s Day!
