Will Sara Khan’s entry prove to be a boon for Junoon in terms of TRPs?

Life OK’s Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq has not been rating very well (0.4 TVR) on the TRP front.

Hence the market has been abuzz with rumours that the channel might take a call on this Beyond Dreams production project soon. However, the entry of Sara Khan in the story seems to indicate that the channel has decided to give Junoon a last chance to either perform or perish.

When we spoke to Sara Khan, she said that she has no idea about the show being on notice.

“Rather I am hearing good things about it; I am quite happy that the creatives and the channel have confidence in me that I can give further impetus to the plot about love and hatred,” the actress informs.

“It is a challenge to play Shalu for she is not your normal black or white character and she can change colors at the last minute. This will keep viewers on tenterhooks all the time wondering as to what would be her next move,” she goes on to add.

A source adds that everybody is keeping their fingers crossed that if Sara’s track works, the show will survive or else it is a good bye. “We are all working very hard to ensure that we give a very good gripping drama to the audience. You need to understand that we are at a tough time slot and Life OK’s basic GRP is also low (101). So, we need to work that much harder.”

When we tried to contact producer Yash Patnaik but he remained unavailable.

When buzzed Life OK Channel Head, Ajit Thakur, he said, “Rumours of Junoon going off-air is not true. We are happy with the project and also producer Yash Patnaik.”

There have also been reports that Life OK, in the coming months will opt for a programming change and do away with its current lot of shows, except Mahadev. It is said that the channel is planning to go back to the Star One days and air mushy mushy love stories.
