During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ..she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.
They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the afternoon.
Jane’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital – (at 8:00 PM Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don’t die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

A motorcycle police officer stops a driver for shooting through a red light. The driver is a real jerk, steps out of his car and comes striding toward the officer, demanding to know why he is being harassed by the Gestapo !
So the officer calmly tells him of the red light violation. The motorist instantly goes on a tirade, questioning the officer’s ancestry, sexual orientation, etc., in rather explicit offensive terms.
The tirade goes on without the officer saying anything.
When the officer finishes writing the ticket he puts an “AH” in the lower right corner of the narrative portion of the ticket. He then hands it to The ‘violator’ for his signature. The guy signs the ticket angrily, and when presented with his copy points to the “AH” and demands to know what it stands for.
The officer says, “That’s so when we go to court, I’ll remember that you’re an asshole !”
Two months later they’re in court. The ‘violator’ has a bad driving record with a high number of points and is in danger of losing his license, so he hired a lawyer to represent him.
On the stand the officer testifies to seeing the man run through the red light.
Under cross examination the defense attorney asks; “Officer is this a reasonable facsimile of the ticket that you issued to my client ?”

THE STORY OF A WOODCUTTER
Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it.
The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work.The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.
“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!
”Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees.
The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees.
Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought.

“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”

Our lives are like that. We
sometimes get so busy that we don’t take time to sharpen the “axe”.
In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy than ever.
Why is that?
Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay “sharp”?
There’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work but we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like
our personal lives,
taking time to get close to our Creator,
giving more time for our family,
taking time to read etc.
We all need time
to relax,
to think and meditate,
to learn
If we don’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness.

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman, in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry and that he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs, and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.
On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redressed his wound. While taking care of him, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for awhile and was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease.
As we talked and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, and hadn’t recognized him in five years. I was surprised, and asked him, “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?” He smiled and patted my hand and said, “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ..she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.
They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the afternoon.
Jane’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital – (at 8:00 PM Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don’t die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this.
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

Yes amaica, I did not know M side, but yes she was ailing for so long Dev and the children were here, while she took treatment, they went back and forth, D had his job and all that so could not leave, he does not have a private practice to get back too, so could not leave his job, he not like a typical lawyer, aggressive and all that, his family went up for the funeral and all that, his sisters and daughter, they knew she would not have made it, but they got to try everything they can, you never know, it’s always so sad when someone so young with young children is gone, but the family is very close and the children will be well taken care off, the Dadi and Dada ji are old but they put family first always, their grandchildren are like their life, soul, the Grand loves them grandparents a lot. My BIL was like that man… served his wife for one complete year
after her pacemaker implant… never complained a day.
Gave up his golf .. which he loved so much and everything else…
when he suddenly fell ill… he was forced to stop.
Six weeks later it all ended…Most men will not make that sacrifice.
I’m not condemning dave..everyone is free to make choices..
M has been ailing for many years..They were a beautiful couple.

Haven’t been to the mandir in a while, should go on Sunday, usually they send out emails about these things, I guess they did not want too many publicity,

A motorcycle police officer stops a driver for shooting through a red light. The driver is a real jerk, steps out of his car and comes striding toward the officer, demanding to know why he is being harassed by the Gestapo !
So the officer calmly tells him of the red light violation. The motorist instantly goes on a tirade, questioning the officer’s ancestry, sexual orientation, etc., in rather explicit offensive terms.
The tirade goes on without the officer saying anything.
When the officer finishes writing the ticket he puts an “AH” in the lower right corner of the narrative portion of the ticket. He then hands it to The ‘violator’ for his signature. The guy signs the ticket angrily, and when presented with his copy points to the “AH” and demands to know what it stands for.
The officer says, “That’s so when we go to court, I’ll remember that you’re an asshole !”
Two months later they’re in court. The ‘violator’ has a bad driving record with a high number of points and is in danger of losing his license, so he hired a lawyer to represent him.
On the stand the officer testifies to seeing the man run through the red light.
Under cross examination the defense attorney asks; “Officer is this a reasonable facsimile of the ticket that you issued to my client ?”
Officer responds, “Yes, sir, that is the defendant’s copy, his signature and mine, same number at the top.”
Lawyer: “Officer, is there any particular marking or notation on this ticket you don’t normally make ?”
“Yes, sir, in the lower right corner of the narrative there is an “AH,” underlined.”
“What does the “AH” stand for, officer ?”
“Aggressive and hostile, Sir.”
“Aggressive and hostile ?”
“Yes, Sir.
“Officer, are you sure it doesn’t stand for asshole ?”
Well, sir, you know your client better than I do.
How often can one get an attorney to convict his own client ?

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it.
The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work.The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.
“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!
”Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees.
The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees.
Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought.
He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked.
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”
Reflection:
Our lives are like that. We
sometimes get so busy that we don’t take time to sharpen the “axe”.
In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy than ever.
Why is that?
Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay “sharp”?
There’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work but we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like
our personal lives,
taking time to get close to our Creator,
giving more time for our family,
taking time to read etc.
We all need time
to relax,
to think and meditate,
to learn
If we don’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness.

What love is all about
It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman, in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry and that he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs, and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.
On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redressed his wound. While taking care of him, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for awhile and was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease.
As we talked and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, and hadn’t recognized him in five years. I was surprised, and asked him, “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?” He smiled and patted my hand and said, “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”
